Artist: “TOUMA”

He studied character design at a game company for about 10 years. He started working as a figure artist in 2001. He has held solo exhibitions and autograph sessions not only in Japan but also in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States, and other countries. He has also worked on the commercialization of many famous characters both in Japan and overseas. He is also active in the animation industry as a Modeling Supervisor.

Of all the Ultra monsters that I have a lot of attachment to, Red King is one of my favorites and reigns in the top 10.
Red King has already been commercialized as a Gashapon product, but 15 years have passed since then, and I felt I could create a better design than I could back then, so I was in charge of the redesign and the soft vinyl prototype. This is a work that I’m proud of, incorporating TOUMA’s characteristics while maintaining the low-polygon structure of the surface. The arms are shaped in a way that makes it look like they can lift up rocks.
